Volunteers who arrive on Thursday are expected to pitch in and help get the campground ready. Those staying late Sunday are expected to help clean up the campground after the camp out.
Anyone who attends the camp out can be a volunteer. There are a lot of things that need to be taken care of over the weekend. The campers often pitch in to help. There are five meals to prepare, serve and clean up after. If you are good in the kitchen, your help is more than welcome.
Volunteer nurses are always welcome. If you are a volunteer nurse and can help out during the camp out, please check in with one of the run coordinators or at the registration desk.
Other volunteer activities include things such as grounds keeping. Before the camp out there is always mowing, weed eating, leaf and debris raking, and brush pick up which needs to be taken to the fire pit.
We always need help in the cooking facility area with everything from food preparation to washing pots and pans after a meal. If you are interested in helping in the cooking facility area, check in with one of the food preparation coordinators.
Thankless tasks, but it must be done. We always needs volunteers to help keep the bathrooms and the shower facility clean for our campers.
Our volunteer coordinator is RyFy, and he is pretty easy to spot around the campground.
Please contact him if you can help out with the many volunteer tasks during the weekend, or if you have any questions about volunteering.
During the camp out weekend, we have a fun-filled show on Saturday evening headed by Show Director GingerVitis [photo to the right]. Entertainers attending the camp out who want to participate in the show on Saturday should contact the show director well before the show.
Funding is also provided through the efforts of entertainers performing at fund raisers hosted by community social groups such as the Debris Sisters in Houston, Texas and the Trinity River Bears in Fort Worth, Texas.
Entertainers and others who want to help with the fund raising shows held in various cities in Texas throughout the year should contact either the show director or one of the run coordinators.
We post the shows held on our Facebook page. If you aren't an entertainer, come on out to the shows and helps support the fund raiser!

If you are good at figuring out “puzzles,” you may want to use your skills by helping some people put up their tents. This is always a challenge to many. It may be a new tent, a borrowed one or one that has not been used for years. If you know how to put them together and take them down it is easy—if the camper does not know how, it can be a nightmare!
One volunteer job we always need is that of a traffic attendant. A lot of campers attend the camp out, and we need help to coordinate the movement of cars and trucks into and out of the tenting area so people can unload their camping gear. Once they leave the tenting area, we need volunteers to help them find a parking spot in the designated parking areas.
Throughout the year, entertainers in several different Texas cities perform in funding raising shows to raise money to help offset the cost of the camp out. It is because of their efforts at raising funds that LVL PWA Camp Out can still offer you a weekend for only $25.
